Trump confirms imminent arrest on Tuesday, calls for support

Former President Donald Trump said on social media on Saturday that he expects to be arrested next week.

Trump, referring to himself, posted to his Truth Social account in all caps that “the far and away leading Republican candidate and former president of the United States of America will be arrested on Tuesday of next week.”

The post follows a Friday night Fox News report that unveiled details of a potential indictment of Trump from the Manhattan District Attorney’s office over the Stormy Daniels case.

“PROTEST, TAKE OUR NATION BACK!” Trump ended his post.

Though details of the arrest are being discussed between Secret Service and district attorney Alvin Bragg, the Fox News report says Trump will be fingerprinted and processed like any defendant.

According to a New York Times article, the 45th president's legal team has been preparing him for a possible indictment. New York officials have been discussing the security arrangements in the event of an arrest, one such decision being whether or not the former president will be handcuffed.

A CNN report says Trump will be expected to be in Manhattan following the formal charges and the former president has allegedly voiced interest in making a speech after.
