Kristi Noem says Trump has 'path to victory'

South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem has said that President Trump has a "path to victory" and has officially endorsed him.

Noem noted that President Donald Trump has the best chance in the Republican primary.

“President Trump is in the race and right now I don't see a path to victory for anybody else with him in the race and the situation as it sits today,” Noem said.

The South Dakota governor has been floated as a possible VP pick for the 45th president, or a potential presidential candidate herself.

“Wouldn't that be interesting? If there was South and North Dakota governors running for president? But now, right now, I am so focused on South Dakota,” Noem said.

Earlier this year, Noem signed a bill to lower sales tax in South Dakota, following previous cuts to personal income tax, business income tax, and statewide property tax.

The Republican governor also defended Mt. Rushmore from a Target-funded organization attempting to shut down the South Dakota landmark.

Though not entering the race herself, Noem is keeping a close watch.

“I think people should saddle up,” Noem said. “It could be a roller coaster of a presidential race.”
