Melania Trump told Fox News on Tuesday that she fully supports former president Donald Trump’s reelection campaign for 2025.
In an exclusive interview with FOX & Friends co-host Pete Hegseth, Mrs. Trump said it would be a “privilege” to serve as the first lady again.
The former first lady said that she would focus on her “Be Best” initiative launched during her husband’s first term in 2018. The initiative concentrates on making sure children have the “support and resources they need to reach their full potential."
Trump announced his reelection campaign in November. A Morning Consultant poll from Tuesday shows his 41-point lead over Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla.
"He has my support, and we look forward to restoring hope for the future and leading America with love and strength," Mrs. Trump said.
Her comments follow a private luncheon on May 6 celebrating the anniversary of her “Be Best” initiative.
Since leaving Washington, D.C., the “Be Best” program has expanded the founding of “Fostering the Future,” a “Be Best” initiative to grant computer science scholarships to children coming out of the foster care system.
The former first lady hopes to continue to develop the program if her husband is reelected in 2024.
"My focus would continue to be creating a safe and nurturing space for children to learn, grow, and thrive," she said. "If additional problems arise, I will take the time to study them and understand their root causes."
