Reporter Mary Margaret Olohan from The Daily Signal on Monday released leaked Fox News policies for transgender employees.
The Daily Signal received Fox’s company handbook, which outlines that employees can use bathrooms and wear clothing that aligns with their gender identity rather than biological sex. Additionally, employees are required to use preferred names and pronouns.
Fox also offers a “Workplace Transition Plan” to help employees facilitate their gender transition at work.
“Employees who are transitioning their gender have the right to be open about their transition if they so choose, and to work in an environment free of harassment, discrimination, or retaliation, and without fear of consequences or transphobia for living openly,” the policy states.
In 2022, Fox was recognized with the highest ranking for the company’s LGBTQ+ equality and was designated the “Best Place to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality.”
The news outlet has historically been under fire for not using preferred pronouns in their reporting, including a story about TikTok celebrity Dylan Mulvaney, a transgender woman born biologically male.
The Daily Signal anonymously interviewed several current and former Fox employees.
“Fox News devotes hours of programming to attacking ‘woke companies,’ but ironically Fox is as woke as the rest of them,” a former Fox News employee said in an interview with Olohan.
The Daily Signal that Fox News denied comment.
“They want you to think it’s this place that supports traditionally conservative values,” another Fox employee and former producer for “Tucker Carlson Tonight” said. “But in reality, they’re pushing this nonsense behind the scenes.”
