Fact-Checkers Get Fact-Checked: Candace Owens Challenges Left-leaning Fact-Checking Site PolitiFact

Political commentator and author Candace Owens claimed victory over left-leaning fact-checking site PolitiFact, a third-party Facebook fact-checker.

On November 12th, Owens captioned a video on Facebook commenting on the 2020 presidential election, "Joe Biden is literally and legally not the President-elect. So why is the media pretending he is?"

Owen's video was, of course, flagged as "false" information by Facebook fact-checkers. And anyone who decided to share the video was hit with an alert from Facebook warning that what they were about to share was "false" content.

In response, Owens shared this on Twitter on November 28th,

"Weeks ago, @Facebook censored a post of mine which truthfully states that @joeBiden is NOT the President-elect. So I got layers involved. Conclusion? @PolitiFact uncensored the post and admitted that they LIED by rating my post false. The fact-checkers are lying for Democrats. "

PolitiFact later removed their "false" rating, adding a "correction" admitting their fault after receiving pressure from Owens' legal team.

"Correction: PolitiFact originally labeled this video false in our capacity as a third-party fact-checker for Facebook. On Nov. 20, an appeal to that decision was made on behalf of Ms. Owens. PolitiFact approved the appeal on Nov. 20, determined that a correction was appropriate, and removed the false rating."

While Owens admits having PolitiFact retract their "false" rating was a major win for everyone who's ever been hit with a false "fact-check" notice, she insists an even bigger "win" was PolitiFact practically admitting that former Vice-presidnent Joe Biden, is not the President-elect.

But for Owens, the legal battle is far from over as she goes after fact-checkers from USA Today and others.

This is exactly the kind of legal action we need in the battle against "political correctness" and misinformation spread by these fake "fact-checkers".

You can contribute to Owens' fight against "fact-checkers" by helping raise funds for her legal action. (see here)

Because a win for Candace Owens against Big Tech and so called "fact-checkers", is a win for conservatives and independents alike - who Big Tech censors daily for voicing their opinions.
