Earlier this year, Riley Gaines tied for first place with biological male Lia Thomas in the 200-yard swim freestyle final at the NCAA Women’s Championships. Following this event, Gaines was attacked by trans-activists a few weeks ago when giving a speech about equality in women's sports on a college campus.
Gaines recently stood her ground when speaking on President Joe Biden’s promise to veto the bill that would essentially prevent any biological male from competing in women’s sports.
According to Fox News, the White House said it “strongly opposes” the bill on not allowing biological males to compete in women’s sports as it would “deny access to sports for many families by establishing an absolute ban on transgender students.”
When speaking with Fox News, Gaines slammed the Protection of Women in Sports Act, also known as H.R. 734, as meaningless and not doing its job. She then went on to claim how Biden was clearly putting the “radical minority” ahead of women in the United States.
Gaines concluded her statement to Fox News, saying, “The President has declared that science, truth and common sense no longer matter. In opposing this bill, President Biden is catering to a radical minority at the expense of women, who are 51% of the population.”
While Congress has not yet passed the change for the H.R. 734 bill, the vote is expected to take place sometime this week in the House of Representatives.
If this bill is passed, the federal government of the United States would not be allowed to “permit a person whose sex is male to participate in an athletic program or activity that is designed for women or girls.”
It seems that Gaines will not be backing down anytime soon and will continue the fight for equality in women’s sports. She tweeted, “The Biden Admins proposed bill denies science, truth, and common sense.”
