HUGE Pro-Life WIN! Texas ENDS Taxpayer Funding of Planned Parenthood

If there’s one thing America can always count on to preserve traditional conservative values it’s the great state of Texas.

Instead of buying into the “abortion is healthcare” or “my body my choice” narratives, Texas is standing its ground in protecting the lives of the unborn.

As of February 3rd, 2021, Texas will no longer allocate Medicaid funds to clinics that provide abortions, including Planned Parenthood.

This comes after a court ruling from November 23rd, 2020 decided by a majority opinion of the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals determined that neither abortion providers nor their customers could challenge Texas’ fiscal decision to withhold funds from Planned Parenthood, Catholic News Agency reported.

Chief Judge Priscilla Owen stated in her opinion last Fall that the, “Medicaid Act leaves it up to a State to determine if a particular provider’s Medicaid agreement should be terminated because the provider is not ‘qualified’ or terminated on other grounds,” she wrote.

Therefore, no individual or customer can legally challenge Texas’ decision to withhold Medicaid funding from abortion clinics.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton praised the court’s ruling as a way to protect human life from exploitation by Planned Parenthood who uses and sells fetal tissue.

“The Fifth Circuit correctly rejected Planned Parenthood’s efforts to prevent Texas from excluding them from the state’s Medicaid program,” Paxton wrote.

“Undercover video plainly showed Planned Parenthood admitting to morally bankrupt and unlawful conduct, including violations of federal law by manipulating the timing and methods of abortions to obtain fetal tissue for their own research,” he said referring to an expose by pro-life activist David Daleiden.

Daleiden famously went undercover in 2015 as a party interested in purchasing fetal tissue. He posted several videos showing secretly recorded conversations between himself and Planned Parenthood representatives discussing fees for baby fetal tissue and organs.

Based on these videos, Paxton says, “Planned Parenthood is not a ‘qualified’ provider under the Medicaid Act, and it should not receive public funding through the Medicaid program.”

Texas is the first state to take extensive action based on information revealed by Daleiden’s undercover work which has landed him five years of legal battles and several federal charges.
