Once again, the mainstream media is missing in action on a massive rescue effort that turned up 150 missing children in Tennessee alone.
It is shocking and terrifying how many kids go missing here at home in America, and yet no one seems to care.
I get it – America’s dirty little human trafficking secret is an ugly topic to cover and recovery efforts don’t bring in as much money as anti-Trump hit pieces do.
Let’s face it: media is a business like any other, and good news just doesn’t get the same clicks as outrage pieces.
But there’s no excuse for failing to cover news related to human trafficking, especially when law enforcement agencies of all levels are working together tirelessly to rescue as many children as possible.
This should be the biggest news in the country rather than pointless reporting on QAnon conspiracy theories.
Regardless, FreedomWire will bring you the latest on the urgent issue of human trafficking in the United States, once again.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation announced on Wednesday that the two-month-long recovery effort “Operation Volunteer Strong” found more than 100 missing children.
The joint operation between U.S. Marshals, the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services, and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation recovered a total of 150 children out of 240 missing in the state between Jan. 4 and Feb. 26.
Planning for the operation began in Fall 2020 and was carried out in two-week blitzes in Tennessee’s three biggest regions including East, Middle, and West Tennessee, the Tennessean reported.
Tennessee Bureau of Investigation tweeted that ages of the children rescued during the blitzes range between three to 17 years old.
The Tennessean revealed that so far, five of the 150 children have been identified as potential victims of human trafficking, while one child is believed to be a kidnapping victim. Cases are still open for all of the children.
At least one suspect has been arrested, while two others were detained on outstanding warrants, the outlet said.
Tennessee U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller said during a press briefing, “I hope this operation changes the course for 150 young lives and leads them to the path of opportunities every child deserves.”
“Our efforts should also serve notice to those who prey on society’s most vulnerable that these children are not forgotten. Investigations will continue and the next knock at the door could be for you,” he vowed.
These law enforcement officials are the true heroes of today. They are successfully doing what seems hopeless and impossible by taking on massive rescue missions across the country. Hopefully their combined efforts will continue to lead to the rescue of thousands more children and ultimately get rid of trafficking for good
